TEDx

In a theoretical student project, I transformed Christine Sun Kim's TED talk into a multi-sensory experience that reflected the themes of her talk “The enchanting music of sign language“. I created environmental installations, branding, and a mobile app to explore sound perception beyond what is considered hearing.

I designed neon signage and interactive installations to merge auditory and visual experiences, playing with neon having both a visual and auditory “noise”. The mobile app included resources on deaf communities statistics, ASL sign lessons, and a photo filter to share for the event attendents. I also conceptualized a take-home piece for after the talk of notebooks with earbuds to encourage reflection on life without hearing, fostering understanding and empathy.
